Remember why you started!!

Don't have much to say on this but ...

Life happens .. things change .. adversity comes .. but realize in the heart what it is what you really want and go after it!! Make things happen .. decisions need to be made and managed to create success in your life ...

Busy is the most sorry excuse for anyone that doesn't have what it takes to get things done! Why am I so direct and unapologetic about it ... because

1.  No one is going to do it for you

2.  People are afraid of the truth

3.  You make time for whats important

Fitness is a part of life not something you should fit in when you feel like you can ... fitness is not about lifting so much weight or being so fast and looking great on stage ... it shouldn't be EGO driven ... FITNESS IS PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE WHERE EXERCISE IS THE BEST NATURAL MEDICINE TO SLOW DOWN AGING AND PREVENT SICKNESS, INJURY, AND DISEASE!

It is about living life to its fullest with no regrets .. you can only do that as long as you have the health to do it!  Too many people are living restricted lifestyles because of the poor choices that were made to get there ... notice I said choices ... you are where you are at because of the choices you made to get there ... no matter the hand you were dealt!!! We have all seen too many times where people have risen above their circumstances and have become inspiration to thousands .....

MY QUESTION TO YOU ... are you will to do what it takes to inspire others!?  Are you willing to do what it takes to really live happy!? Are you willing to put away the excuses and take responsibility for you actions and finally ... commit to being a better human being!!!

I know I am ... are you with me?  #strongertogether

It takes a family...

This is what's wrong with corporate gyms or gyms for that matter.  It misses the sense of belonging.  You may have a membership but are  you accepted in a community of athletes or clients?  Having a sense of belonging and an emotional attachment to a facility makes all the difference where you decide to spend hours to improve your health.  A small business training center and group of average people will drive you to reep every sweat and tear.

The important factor...

I have been in the fitness industry for a little while now fast approaching 10,000 hours of training.  I have done it all ... played football, baseball, wrestling, martial arts, judo, submission wrestling ... Army PT, combatatives ... bodybuilding, CrossFit ... even rugby as a kid!

What do I take from this ... THE LOVE!  ITS THE BINDING PIECE ... 

If you never love what you do ... you will never do what you love!  A lot of people hate exercise ... but tend to learn to love it .. why?  Because after a great workout (granted lead by a great trainer/coach) ... you get this natural high ... destress ... accomplishment ... your best ... nothing left ... better than you were before ... the next level ...

Words and feelings and emotions start running through your head and an overwhelming sense of enjoyment surfaces ... of course its not easy ... yet worth every sweat ... every minute ... every rep and set ... every day!

There is a choice ... learn to love ... or die learning nothing!  Fitness and health is a way of life!

WHY CROSSFIT???

Many people ask me why and we see it everywhere, but now I want to ask you why or why not.  I personally run my own affiliate CrossFit Ageless in my personal training center OMEGA Fitness LLC where we also offer Strongman Training on Saturdays called Godstrong Sports.  I have a love for all training styles because I believe they each have something great to offer anyone and everyone.  I find that CrossFit has embodied them all in one ... olympic, powerlifting, gymnastics, functional, conditioning, speed, stamina ... the list goes on but whats even great is how you can the model provided and make it your own to the public and athletes that stop in every day.  What type of fitness fuels you?  What calls you in the middle of the night?  #lifton #omegastrong #crossfit #gymnastics #powerlifting #olympicweightlifting #fitfam

Holiday Weight GAIN?!

Reasons for weight gain??? Many many reasons but here are just a few...

1.  Stress:  A lot of chaos occurs this time of year with family, gifts, overtime, kids time off, decorating, wrapping, shopping, icy roads, etc.

2. Less Active:  Because of the cold and snow and etc we are prone to staying indoors more, which leads to boredom.  Boredom drives us to the refrigerator to eat more than we are suppose too and most of the time eating while in front of the TV for hours.

3.  Junk at Work:  People feel that since its the holidays, they should be kind and spread Christmas cheer by bring everyone cookies and donuts, or take out from the local deli.  They may mean well, but they are ignorant to the fact that junk at the office leads to decrease work capacity and efficiency because of sugar highs and crashes, upset/clogged digestive system, etc.  

Those are a couple and the most common I have found with clients.  What do you have to add and what do you find that works to not be a victim of holiday weight gain???

Night Cravings

We have all been there.  It has been a long day and all of the sudden you find yourself in front of the fridge late at night and you wonder what there is good to eat!  I can go on a tantrum and say a lot of things like why you should be in bed right now, why you are hungry, etc, but what I want to say is sometimes you just gotta have a little something.  Most of the time I find people up this late committing an evil deed to their bodies because of STRESS!  It keeps up late and makes eat seek comfort most of the time in food.  So I say if you have one of those nights first find a better way to destress before bedtime.  If you still find yourself here then most of the time you need to find the right thing .... a couple options. 1) Tall glass of water ... you most probably are dehydrated 2) A veggie with a crunch will please the craving or 3) protein shake at night ..... now I don't do WHEY because for many it makes you bloated and it is just not as good as the vegan protein.  More on this later ...

So tell me your story!  What finds you late and what helps you at night?
